POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the oversight of patient billing and patient accounts receivable. Maintain day-to-day operations and reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and five years related experience in accounts receivable preferably dealing with insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid (May substitute experience for education an Associate's Degree and 7 years' experience).

SKILL SETS: Proficient at computer software such as Excel, Outlook, Word, Electronic Medical Records/Billing, etc., superior oral and written communication skills, articulate, trustworthy and decisive. Other skill sets include but are not limited to highly organized, good anticipatory planning, conflict resolution and analytical skills.


PHYSICAL AND ENVIORMENTAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity for computer work and administration of all paperwork. Requires minimal stooping and crouching to access files. Hearing and speaking necessary for phone conversations with clients, employees and other individuals. There are long periods of sitting. Manual dexterity is required to perform keyboard and calculator functions and other related duties.


JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

  1. Trains and orients new employees to departmental policies and procedures.
  2. Interviews and recommends employee personnel actions (hiring, firing, promotions, etc.).
  3. Communicates and disseminates billing information to appropriate staff.
  4. Serves as a liaison to staff related to billing, insurance, and accounts receivable.
  5. Maintains timely follow-up with payers regarding collection of accounts receivable.
  6. Updates changes in Credible as needed.
  7. Communicates relevant changes in laws and regulations regarding billing to management.
  8. Serves as a liaison with Credible Revenue Cycle Management Staff for Accounts Receivable.
  9. Assists with Credible Training for staff.
  10. Participates and provides leadership in agency continuing quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Adheres to Communicare, Inc. policies and procedures.
  2. Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
